ANNOUNCEMENTS

Short-form Narrative Writing Class in fall 2017
The Short-form Narrative class, taught by a New York Times reporter, will be offered at a new time this fall. This is a class that’s highly recommended, especially if you want to develop your own writing voice. It’s offered at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The focus is on writing short – and writing well. You’ll practice narrative techniques, such as point of view, character, scene, dialogue, action and theme. Best of all, the class is taught by a master of narrative non-fiction, Fernanda Santos, chief of the Phoenix Bureau of The New York Times and author of a book about the Hot Shots firefighting crew. This is just the second semester we’ve offered the course; don’t miss this opportunity to take advantage of it!

M/W 9:30-11:20 a.m.
Prerequisite: JMC 301, JMC 302, JMC 315 or MCO 502
