Interns at Evolve PR and Marketing will help with all facets of our company including: social media, research projects, press releases, pitch writing, calendar listings, coverage pulling and any TV segments we might need help with. We manage everything from restaurants to events to experts and various gyms and spas in the area.

Design Internship description:

This internship is for writers and photographers who want a hands-on experience with the Cronkite Journal magazine, a print and online magazine that is the school’s main way of communicating programs and accomplishments to alumni around the world, students, the greater university community, the journalism industry and supporters. We are looking for students who can report, write and photograph to Cronkite School standards. The internship is appropriate for public relations and news editorial students. There are no set office hours and no car is required as most assignments take place within the school. You will get assignments and be expected to produce them on deadline. You’ll get one-on-one time with Editor Joe Giordano (stories) or Graphic Designer Linda Davis (photos) to edit and critique your work. You must be able to work independently, meet deadlines and develop multiple sources. Accuracy is a must.

We will be interviewing for two interns, a Photography intern and a Digital Publishing intern. The Photography intern will work out in the field on various photography assignments, as needed. Proficient photography skills and owning a DSLR camera, and a reliable means of transportation is a must for this position.

The Digital Publishing intern will work within the PHOENIX magazine office up to 2x a week and help with video editing, production of online editions and other digital products. This will require knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, a high comfort level for using online technologies (we will teach how to use these programs) and a fine attention to detail.

Spring 2017- Greater Phoenix Leadership/Arizona Voices Institute Public Relations and Digital Media Intern‐ PAID
Arizona Voices Institute (AVI) is a 501(c)(3) non‐profit and non‐partisan initiative of Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL) dedicated to increasing public participation in the legislative process. Arizonavoices.org was created as a way to directly empower and collectively encourage citizens to propose solutions for the challenges faced by Arizona. Our goal is to ensure that the policies adopted by the Arizona Legislature reflect the priorities of Arizona citizens.

GPL and AVI are seeking an intern with strong knowledge, an interest and understanding of public relations, public policy and digital media landscape. The intern will develop public relations campaigns to create, attract and increase engagement and communication with Arizona Voices stakeholders and partners. The role includes managing various digital and social media channels and how to effectively use them in our public relations strategies. The intern hired for this position will possess strong critical thinking skills and is a creative idea‐generator with the ability to work in a fast‐paced environment.

The Public Relations and Digital Media Intern will play an active role in the management of the arizonavoices.org online platform communicating to its more than 7,000 members, leadership groups, local media, elected officials, trade associations and advocacy groups. The intern will engage members on the arizonavoices.org website and social media platforms and in person to help develop new advocacy partnerships and create and publish content that sparks community and civic engagement and dialogue about current legislative initiatives.
The intern will also assist in the creation of partnerships to support our ongoing legislative and advocacy objectives, build communication strategies, aligning and managing all digital and social media platforms and other relevant channels. The intern will help secure new partners and help spark community engagement and dialogue about current bills before the Arizona legislature; engage with collaborating organizations to encourage partnership and participation and use all relevant analytical tools to assess performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability 360 and the Virginia G. Piper Sports & Fitness Center for Persons with Disabilities (SpoFit) is currently looking for a Marketing & Public Relations intern. Duties include identifying and developing editorial stories about people and events related to the disability community, and participating in marketing campaigns for events that both Ability 360 and SpoFit create, sponsor and promote.

We offer 12-week paid internships working as reporting interns for metro, photo, sports, interactive and design teams. Starting in May/June through August/September.

Arts & Culture Reporting intern: We seek an ambitious writer with a broad love of arts and culture in the Bay Area to write for our arts sections. The applicant must have strong writing and reporting skills, a lively sense of what’s happening on the Bay Area arts scene, both above and below the radar, and strong working knowledge of digital storytelling and social media.

Business intern: We look for excellence in writing, reporting and news judgment. The ideal candidate can not only chase breaking news but generate their own story ideas, particularly in the areas of business and technology. We look for writers who have worked on campus or other professional publications, know AP Style and are adept at reading SEC filings and other corporate reports.

Interactive graphics/design intern: We’re looking for an energetic design candidate with some illustration and info-graphic skills. This intern will help generate ideas and work in a team atmosphere to create well-organized pages that look visually stunning. Candidates should have experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, digital skills are a plus.

Metro Reporting intern: We look for excellence in writing, reporting and news judgment. The ideal candidate can not only chase breaking news but generate their own story ideas. Photography Intern: San Francisco Chronicle photo interns are responsible for taking photographs and videos for use in The San Francisco Chronicle and its electronic editions. You will cover a variety of news, features, portrait and sports assignments in the Bay Area. In print, photos will be used individually. In electronic editions, photos will be used in slideshows, videos, and other multimedia productions. You will be responsible for taking photographs, initial editing, writing AP Style captions and some reporting. Applicants should have prior internship experience and proficiency in video production is preferred.

Kroc Fellowship at NPR
Recent graduates interested in public radio journalism can apply for a one-year fellowship with National Public Radio (NPR).

The NPR Kroc Fellowship will train three fellows in public radio journalism – writing, reporting, producing and editing, for both radio and the web.

Fellows will receive a US$40,000 stipend, benefits and a paid vacation. Fellowships will be primarily based at NPR’s Washington headquarters, but may also include an assignment at a member station.

Applications are open to students who have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree on or after Jan, 1, 2016 or who expect to earn an undergraduate or graduate degree by the spring of 2017 before the fellowship begins in August 2017.

Journalism or radio experience is not required. Foreign nationals interested in applying must have the necessary employment authorization.

ASU Social Media and News Assistant- $11-$14/HR DOE
Are you a journalism or communications student interested in using your skills to support the health enterprise at ASU? The Health Futures Council at ASU (HFC) Operations team is seeking an assistant to write news stories, post news and events to web and social media sites, produce and distribute a digital newsletter, and monitor SEO for websites. This paid position is a great opportunity to produce communications and work on the ground at the university. It is also a great opportunity to learn about the breadth of health related research and activity at ASU.

The news and social media assistant should have strong writing skills as well as a solid understanding of how social media channels work, and how to optimize content so that it is engaging and professional on all channels. Other helpful skills include experience gathering and editing news content, image sourcing and manipulation, and thorough web-searching for relevant material. An understanding of how SEO, content, and social media work together to create effective digital marketing campaigns is desirable.

Social media gaffes can exist forever in screenshots, so the ideal candidate will have good situational judgement. The HFC Operations team is looking for someone with an even-keeled temperament and a strong work ethic, who does not need constant supervision to produce outstanding results. ASU Videographer- $12-$16/HR DOE
The Sustainability Review is an online platform to communicate sustainability that serves as a workshop to graduate students at the School of Sustainability. The board members of The Sustainability Review create video based stories that will be published on The Sustainability Review. The job of videographer is to provide the expertise of creating, editing, and publishing the video content. The videographer will collaborate closely with board members in the creative process of producing a video from beginning to end. The videographer will also create short versions of the videos so they can be published on social media.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

•Ability to use professional video/audio equipment
•Ability to edit video/audio using professional software
•Ability to travel in the PHX metro when necessary
•Communicate and collaborate closely with board members
•Discipline in editing video/audio at a good speed

Working Environment
The Sustainability Review meets once a week at Wrigley Hall for one hour. The videographer will be out in the field shooting film at different locations around the Valley with board members. Most of the time the videographer will be editing video/audio in their most preferred location. The Sustainability Review does have a computer the videographer can use at the Matthews Center, but if the videographer would rather edit from home, that is perfectly acceptable.

KTAR Part-time Web Editor
To update, gather, and create news and sports content for the KTAR and Arizona Sports web sites. Ensure that all content on KTAR.com and ArizonaSports.com is fresh and represents the high standards of the stations’ on-air products. The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates strong editorial skills and sound news judgment with experience reporting or writing for a print publication or online news outlet. This is a unique position that requires extreme flexibility, including some work on weekends, evenings, etc. In addition, the position requires the flexibility and dependability to work additional hours during breaking news and other big news and sports events. Volunteer- Public Address Announcer and Photographer for Tennis Tournament

Significance:
-A UTSA Men’s Pro Circuit Event
-The tournament will feature professional players from around the world
-Played in one of the fastest growing population centers in the United States

Organization:The Arizona Sports and Entertainment Commission in coordination with Arizona State University Athletics

The Field: A 32-man singles draw, 16-team doubles draw and a 32-man qualifying event played under the rules of the ATP and USTA
