Internship Credit for the fall 2016 semester
If you have secured an internship for the fall semester and would like to receive MCO 294 or JMC 484 credit for it, please contact cronkitecareerservices@asu.edu ASAP. We will need to review the company, the specific duties of the internship, the number of hours you will work and the person who will supervise you. If the internship meets the requirements, we will let you know how to register for it. Please note: you need to have a 2.50 GPA to register for any internship and there are certain prerequisite course requirements for MCO 294 and JMC 484. Registration must be completed by August 18.

If you are an incoming freshmen or first-year transfer student, you must complete JMC 110 and JMC 101 before you are eligible for internship credit.

Fall 2016- Dave Pratt Live- Internship
We are looking for an intern to book guests. The intern will actually be part of the CW internship program.

A few weeks ago, we would have used this intern to set up interviews with Martina McBride, Jeff Foxworthy, a couple of the DBacks players on the road, a few delegates from the DNC convention, and the most recent Arizona Powerball lottery winner. We will help them with connections. (of course).

In addition, when the intern comes into studio during our TV show, they will be helping us with coordinating production elements, learning radio and video, and again, coordinating guests.

Fall 2016 Degree Search/ASU Editorial Internship
The provost’s office is seeking an editorial intern to assist with the review of the academic catalog. Students undertaking the internship will work closely with a seasoned editor to review content that will populate ASU’s Degree Search website. The emphasis will be on applying AP style, utilizing a secondary style guide (ASU’s style guide, as well as the catalog style guide), verifying data against other sources as well as checking for grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and formatting. Fall 2016 -Release the Fear Marketing Internship
At Release the Fear Marketing intern(s) will not be getting coffee or filing documents (unless they want coffee or need to file their own documents). Our intern will be elbow deep in planning and execution, and gaining valuable, measurable, relatable, real world experience.

Working directly with the head of Marketing, they will have the opportunity to be integral in building the elements of a campaign from the ground up, beginning with brand development, strategy, logo design, key messaging, collateral design, and copywriting. The PR/Social media interns will have a solid understanding of PR principals, how to write effective press releases, who to send them to, how to follow up, and how to build successful relationships with the media, key editors, writers, bloggers, and community influencers, with the goal of heightening our organization’s visibility and voice in the community. -Undergraduate students must have completed their junior year in a film, mass media or electronic media degree program.

Cronkite-Zocalo Fellowship in Santa Monica- Paid
The Cronkite School is accepting applications for student fellowships in sustainability journalism with Zócalo Public Square at ASU’s new Santa Monica., Calif., bureau.

The fellowship will be offered in the spring 2017 semester with students working out of the new Cronkite School bureau in Santa Monica. Fellows will work up to 40 hours a week for $10 an hour, producing content for the Zócalo website and its media partners, and assisting with Zocalo’s public events. Students also may apply to receive Cronkite internship credit for the fellowship. Students will be responsible for arranging their own housing. The Cronkite School will cover the cost of travel to and from Santa Monica.

Zócalo Public Square, a project of the Center for Social Cohesion at Arizona State University, is a not-for-profit Ideas Exchange that seeks to engage a new, young and diverse generation in the public square through a blend of live events and humanities journalism. It partners with educational, cultural and philanthropic institutions to present free, non-partisan public events and conferences in cities across the U.S. and beyond and to publish original daily journalism that is distributed to more than 100 media outlets nationwide.

Fellows may be graduate or undergraduate Cronkite students with an interest in sustainability, energy, the environment and related fields. Duties include generating story ideas, identifying and working with Zocalo contributors (who include journalists, scholars and non-writers), writing and editing articles for the website, working with media syndicate partners, building audiences for journalism and events through social and other media, and assisting with the planning and execution of public discussions and lectures on current affairs topics. Fellows will work with a small staff of writers and editors who produce new content daily for the website and its media partners and who solicit contributions from diverse people whose voices would otherwise go unheard. Strong editing skills are a must as are curiosity and energy. The successful applicant will be able to generate story ideas off the news that provide a different perspective on current topics and write and edit for voice. Some evening work is required. Fellows may have the opportunity to travel to Zócalo events in California and around the country. A car is not required but is suggested.

Get 40+ minutes of on-camera experience a weekend while broadcasting for the Arizona Hawks Junior A Tier II Hockey Team in Peoria, AZ.

Job Description:
·On air broadcasting for pre-game, post-game and two intermissions during AZ Hawks games.
·Participate in broadcast team prep meetings during the week prior to two or three game series
·Show up at least one-hour prior to game time for show prep and pre-game interviews with coaches and players.
·Stay up-to-date with home team news, injuries and scores, and be familiar with away team.
·Broadcasters must have professional attire (Suit and tie of men, appropriate dress for women).
·Broadcasters will take turns running camera during game play.

ASU Video Specialist at ASU Foundation
Student Crowdfunding Account Managers (CAMs) serve in partnership with the ASU Foundation for a New American University’s (ASUF), Sun Devil Giving (SDG) to support and execute the PitchFunder crowdfunding program. This position interacts with partners from all areas of the university to identify, train, and manage charitable crowdfunding campaigns that support Arizona State University students, programs, and units. CAMs will also work PitchFunder’s platform to engage students and other members of the ASU community in organized fundraising efforts. The position is dynamically involved in growing the PitchFunder program, helping the effort to take shape and grow within the ASU community. CAMs will work with SDG and ASUF staff to collaboratively build and execute a training and coaching program for PitchFunder participants. CAMs will also have the opportunity to identify potential PitchFunder campaign participants, build professional relationships with key partners across campus, and manage campaigns to fundraising success, securing essential support for ASU.

-Write, edit and distribute in-game reports, statistical memos, injury updates, etc.
-Assist with researching postgame notes and tracking statistical trends through the games and season
