Study Abroad Info Session on Monday February 1
Monday, February 1, Cronkite will be hosting an information session for the Cronkite Euro and Cronkite Mideast programs, which are currently accepting applications. This will be an opportunity for you to meet the faculty leaders, learn about the courses offered on each of the programs, review the exciting itineraries we have planned for each of the programs, and ask questions. Additionally, we will be discussing the application process and financial aid and scholarships.

Summer 2016- CNBC.com breaking news desk internship- PAID
CNBC.com, the digital arm of business-news network CNBC, is seeking interns for the summer 2016 semester. This is an immersive writing and editing internship on the CNBC.com breaking-news desk. Interns will edit and produce news stories from wires, CNBC reporters and partners. He/she will also write some quick flips as well as several original stories throughout the semester. This is a full-time (M-F) paid internship.

We’re looking for highly motivated students who love the fast pace of a newsroom and have a serious interest in business news and online journalism. Must have strong writing, editing, research and organizational skills. Some journalism experience such as college newspaper, website or blog preferred. Summer 2016- Sacramento Bee- PAID
In partnership with The Sacramento Bee, AAJA Sacramento is sponsoring a 10-week internship program for aspiring print, photo, graphics and multimedia journalists. A weekly stipend of $400 will be provided. The program begins in May or June 2016, depending on the intern’s availability. Upon completion of the internship, the intern will be eligible for a $1,000 grant from the chapter.

To qualify, an applicant must be enrolled in a college or university. Recent graduates who completed their studies in Fall 2015 are eligible to apply. Summer 2016- ABC Broadcast Motion Graphics and Design Internship in New York-PAID
The ABC Broadcast Graphics and Design department creates dynamic visuals and on-air packaging for all ABC News programming and non-fiction special broadcasts, as well as clients ESPN on ABC, and ABC Daytime. We produce highly creative and competitive graphics under extremely tight deadlines. Daily/Weekly broadcasts include: Good Morning America, World News with David Muir, Nightline, 20/20, What Would You Do?, and This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have strong motion graphics skills, as they will be assigned to work on projects or apprentice with show art directors. The goal of the internship is to identify and develop potential graphic artists with the high-level skillsets that are required to create network level designs. You will assist art directors, production assistants and graphic artists with daily production for ABC News Broadcasts; you will research photo services and stock imagery vendors; and pre-production of graphic elements is involved.

ABC News Broadcast Graphics and Meteorology Internship in NY- PAID
The ABC Broadcast Graphics department creates dynamic visuals and on-air packaging for all ABC News programming. We also work with the “ABC News Extreme Weather Team,” led by Ginger Zee and Rob Marciano, to produce the weather graphics for Good Morning America, World News with David Muir, World News Weekend, Nightline and other special broadcasts.

The ideal candidate will be pursuing an education in meteorology, with a specialty in broadcast meteorology or weather production. They will apprentice with the World News Tonight and Good Morning America graphics producers and meteorologists, and will have opportunity to work directly supporting our on-air meteorologists covering national weather. Summer 2016- BuzzFeed PR Intern in New York
BuzzFeed is seeking a motivated, organized, hard-working and creative public relations intern to join the communications team in New York. The PR intern will aid a communications team that spans all divisions of BuzzFeed, gaining experience in editorial (including news, lifestyle, and viral content), international, business, and tech communications.

The PR intern will be responsible for managing team press lists and other pertinent documents, tracking press coverage across all BuzzFeed properties, and contributing to a daily company-wide email of press hits. Summer 2016- Stuart Scott ESPN Internship-PAID
ESPN and the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) are accepting applications for the newly created Stuart Scott internship at ESPN.

The internship begins this summer and is offered in memory of ESPN sportscaster Stuart Scott for his many contributions to sports journalism. The longtime ESPN anchor died Jan. 4, 2015 after a long battle with cancer.

The internship is paid and housing is available. The NABJ Sports Task Force, which promotes diversity in America’s sports departments and creates programming to develop the next wave of America’s sports journalists, will work with ESPN to select candidates for the program.

June 6 – August 12, 2016 located in Bristol, CT
· This is a paid internship – 10 weeks, 40 hours per week
· The student will also receive $3500 scholarship on behalf of ESPN and The Sports Task Force.
· Interns will pay $1,000 for a fully furnished apartment/dorm that covers 10 weeks.
· Programming events hosted throughout the summer including Intern Symposium (which kicks off with Q&A with John Skipper), Speaker Events with ESPN leaders & networking with Recruiters for full-time positions
· The scholarship winner may be placed in a Production or Editorial internship.

CBS News Diversity Internship- PAID
CBS News will select six students from across the country to intern in NY or Washington, DC. Students will receive a stipend of $6500. Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation. CBS will notify winners by early April.

Summer 2016- American Association of People with Disabilities
AAPD’s Summer Internship Program places college students, graduate students, law students, and recent graduates with all types of disabilities in paid 10-week summer internships in Congressional offices, federal agencies, non-profits, and for-profit organizations in the Washington, DC area. Each intern is matched with a mentor who will assist them their career goals. AAPD provides the interns with a stipend, transportation to and from Washington, DC, and fully-accessible housing. Internship information.

Summer 2016- AAJA/NBC Internship
AAJA is proud to accept applications for the 2016 NBC Summer Partnership. NBCUniversal will place up to four selected students as paid interns for their programs based in New York City. NBC News Group will determine the show placement of the interns, but students will have the opportunity to inform NBC News Group of their preferences. The selected participants will be paid hourly for their work, and must be able to work full time in New York City during the summer of 2016. A $2,000 housing stipend is available to candidates who live outside a 50 mile radius of the NBC Tri-State area offices. AAJA will also connect each partnership intern with a professional journalist mentor through the AAJA Broadcast Mentoring Program.

Summer 2016- National Cancer Institute Communications for Graduate Students- PAID
The National Cancer Institute (NCI), the largest of the 27 institutes and centers comprising the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is the Federal Government’s principal agency for cancer research and training. The NCI coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.

The NCI recognizes that health information dissemination is key in raising public awareness about new cancer treatments, support for cancer patients and their families, and prevention strategies. To that end, in 1975 the NCI established the Health Communications Internship Program (HCIP) to attract and develop individuals interested in careers in health communications and science writing.

The HCIP gives highly qualified graduate students and recent graduate degree recipients the opportunity to participate in vital health and science communications projects in one of the many offices that make up the NCI. Interns will select an area of emphasis: Health Communications or Science Writing. Six-month and one-year internship terms are available.

Successful Health Communications applicants have some science background as well as experience and/or education in any of the following areas: public health, epidemiology, public relations, health education, communications, science writing, statistics, social marketing, or journalism. Health Communications interns:

Plan, develop, and promote cancer education programs and materials (including Web-based) for the public, cancer patients, or health professionals
Gain experience in pre-testing and evaluating cancer prevention and treatment messages, publications, materials, and programs that reach the American public
Participate in professional meetings and training seminars

Successful Science Writing applicants have a science background with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into material suitable for a lay audience. Science Writing interns:

Write fact sheets and press releases
Answer inquiries from the press
Attend and report on scientific meetings
Write feature length, creative articles on the latest, most important advances in cancer research
Participate in professional meetings and training seminars

VOICES Program Fellowship
The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is accepting applications for the 2016 VOICES program, open to currently enrolled college students, graduate students and recent grads.

The program will take place August 8 – 13 during the week of the 2016 AAJA National Convention in Las Vegas. VOICES is a multimedia journalism training fellowship for college and graduate students, as well as a leadership program for mid-career journalists. Students will be mentored by professional journalists and be expected to produce and complete news assignments at the 2016 convention. Transportation, convention registration and hotel expenses will be covered for the students selected.

Video Project-Small Stipend
Need student to make an introductory video and then I was hoping to chronicle the project and interview teachers, students and parents to get attitudes on experience. I am open to collaborate with the Journalist if they have any ideas on what to do or if it turns into a documentary about experiential learning practices in an urban public elementary school. I am working with Paideia Academy which is a Title 1 school in Phoenix. I can offer a Stipend of $250.
