Allison + Partners Bilingual Intern
Requirements/Skills:
Public relations interns will be actively enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a university public relations, marketing, or related program. The individual must demonstrate the ability to undertake basic public relations writing assignments, adapt to a fast-paced work environment, possess an understanding of basic media relations skills, interact professionally with clients, and exercise good judgment. A working knowledge of computers, as well as word processing and database management software is necessary. Interns will be mentored by the entire Allison+Partners team including senior executives. Interns will work between 20-25 hours a week. Prior relevant experience is required. Spanish language competency is required. Compensation is $10 per hour.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a paid intern to work with us on a wide variety of client projects. These include, but are not limited to:

•Draft basic public relations materials including news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, client meeting summaries, status reports and other materials as directed.
•Assist with media outreach, including pitching and follow-ups.
•Attend and participate in client meetings, media training sessions, presentations, and brainstorming sessions as directed.
•Attend media live-shots, in-studios and events as needed.

Summer 2015- Arizona Public Service Company PV Nuclear Plant Communications and Video Intern
APS is seeking 2-3 seasonal interns for this summer at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. Two positions are to be filled by Palo Verde Communications — one intern would work with the editorial team and one would work with the video production team. A third intern will work with the Palo Verde Security organization to help them improve their organizational communications.

Compensation for interns at APS is dependent on last year of school completed, ranging from $14 per hour for students who have completed their Freshman year to $24 per hour for those who have completed a Master’s Degree. Fall 2015 Internship- Eight/Arizona PBS and Eight/AZ PBS – Horizon/Horizonte
HORIZON/HORIZONTE INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION: Interns work as program coordinators for Eight’s public affairs programs Horizon and Horizonte. DUTIES: Interns are responsible for various pre-production tasks including creating a font rundown, timing, copying, and distributing scripts to the host and production crew. During production, interns communicate the amount of time remaining in interviews to the host and production crew. They also are responsible for providing an accurate countdown to the end of the show. Other responsibilities include: proofing and preparing written program transcripts for online publication, maintaining files, and assisting producers with other tasks, as needed. HOURS: Interns are assigned to coordinate one show on a specific day each week. For scheduling purposes, we need interns with flexibility (available two or more evenings a week) in their schedules. Horizon is typically recorded Monday-Friday at 5:30pm, so we are looking for program coordinators who are available weekdays from 2:30pm-6:30pm. Horizonte usually tapes on Wednesdays at 6:45pm, so we need a coordinator who is available Wednesdays between 3:30pm and 7:30pm. In addition to their weekly production coordinator shifts, interns will work the balance of hours required for their internships in the Horizon/Horizonte office during regular business hours. PAY: This is an unpaid internship.

Function as a radio newsroom intern. Perform as a contributing member of the newsroom, have a self-starter attitude with ability to make solid decisions about news content under supervision. Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities include:
1. Perform live field/studio reports.
2. Concise and conversational broadcast writing skills.

Summer 2015- Phoenix-based Communications Internship
Arizona Bridge to Independent Living (ABIL) and the Virginia G. Piper Sports & Fitness Center for Persons with Disabilities (SpoFit) is currently looking for a Marketing & Public Relations intern. Duties include identifying and developing editorial stories about people and events related to the disability community, and participating in marketing campaigns for events that both ABIL and SpoFit create, sponsor and promote.

Tasks include writing, editing, gathering clips, online research, event planning, as well as related assignments that could include photography, videography, commercial art and post-production of media. Writing projects may include interviewing consumers, staff, community members or others in order to develop stories or content. Content may be distributed to or published in a variety of formats, including newspapers, magazines, radio or print ads, web site, Facebook, and general ABIL marketing materials.

Interns will have numerous opportunities to publish their work on Facebook, web sites, and in ABIL’s newsletters; ABIL distributes content to local and national media outlets.
