Summer-Fall 2013 PAID PR Internship
Wired PR, a Phoenix-based public relations and creative marketing agency, is looking for a motivated, creative PR intern to join its team part time for the summer and fall. A Wired PR intern is a self-starter who will work hard to bring original ideas and fresh approaches to the overall PR process. You will be responsible for researching editorial calendars, researching and maintaining media lists, compiling press coverage, developing content for blogs and newsletters, drafting press releases and calendar listings, and keeping current on events. Photojournalist Internship Program
If you’re a current junior or senior in college, intern in sunny Phoenix, Arizona at the local independent news station, KTVK-3TV. KTVK-3TV and The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists are committed to developing photojournalist interns from colleges and accredited universities.
All of our interns receive the benefit of being assigned a mentor. The mentor will provide a platform to develop skills and experience. Our mentors will provide a learning partnership with our interns, and teach them all there is to know about the fascinating world of television and development of photojournalism (video) skills. Program will include traditional television news photojournalism, editing, sports and more! This is a paid position (15 hours per week maximum schedule) and the student must be pre-approved for college credit. This Fall 2013 internship will run 15 weeks; September through December.

Marketing & Communication Internship

James Alan Cox Photojournalism Scholarship
Founded in memory of James Alan Cox, a television photojournalist, The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photographers aims to provide financial support to student photographers of high school and college age. Through a variety of funding, including equipment purchases and scholarships for college and technical school classes, the foundation’s mission is to expand educational and developmental opportunities for student photographers demonstrating interest, talent and financial need.
Type of Awards:
– Five (5) digital cameras will be awarded to five (5) high school students
– Five (5) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to five (5) college or technical school students; four awards will be for video work while one will be for still photography
Focus of work and entries: Photojournalism. Scholarships will be awarded to those students whose work “tells a story.” This is a fairly broad topic and may include a variety of subject matter and approaches (breaking news, sporting events, etc.). Jim Cox, who was a television photojournalist in Phoenix, always “told a story” through his work, whether it was in video or still photography.
All submissions must be via the internet from July 15th through November 15th. We will not accept applications by mail or before or beyond the deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Work both on and off-site events (i.e. home games, special events, sports tournaments, partner appearances, festivals, etc.) in an effort to promote the Phoenix Suns / Mercury
•Responsible for installation set-up, operation and teardown of all interactive elements and the Phoenix Suns / Mercury Mobile Marketing vehicle at scheduled events
•Responsible for all operational needs and activation of the following elements while at events representing the Phoenix Suns / Mercury – handout premium items, facilitate on-site promotions, interact with fans and communicate general information
•Make sure vehicles are fully stocked with necessary items for each event and ensure vehicles are kept clean at all times
•Assist with organization and maintenance of the mobile unit
•Assist Marketing Department in researching new events for appearances
•Responsible for fan engagement and data cultivation at each event
•Responsible for completing post-event wrap-up forms after every event
•Assist with other tasks on an as-needed basis
Required Skills / Qualifications:
