Paid Sports Production Opportunities- Fall 2013

The PAC-12 Network will televise dozens of live sporting events from the Tempe campus in the fall and spring semesters.   Students will have the opportunity to work in the positions of runner/stage manager, utility, stats, parabolic mic, time out coordinator and possibly junior camera operator.    Positions are paid and students usually earn about $12-$18/hour (depending on what position you work).

If you are not already in our PAC-12 Network student pool and want to be, please send a resume to cronkitecareerservices@asu.edu and also send a note explaining your sports experience as a player, coach or official.   You must have a deep knowledge of the terminology and rules of the sport we assign you to.   Not only must you be knowledgable about sports, but you must be reliable when it comes to scheduling.   If you commit to working a game, we expect you to be there on time.  Most of the games will occur Thursday-Sunday.   Some crew calls on Thursday and Friday could be as early as 11:00 a.m.  If you’re interested in this opportunity, you should send in your materials. We will not accept materials after July 30.

NFL on FOX
So if you think college sports is good opportunity, how about working for the NFL on Fox for Arizona Cardinals home games?   The production team is looking for a specialty stats person and  two runners.  Specialty stats include: QB hurries (# of times QB has been hit/knocked down/sacks), Yards after carry (YAC) once an RB takes an initial hit,  WR stats vs. a cornerback (#of catches, yards, TDs and # of times thrown to).    Runners will work with production truck and booth announcers- running errands.    Please forward a resume and a cover letter.  In the cover letter please include:   the position you’re interested in, what makes you uniquely qualified for the position and your experience with football or covering it.   Materials should be sent to cronkitecareerservices@asu.edu no later than July 1.

Summer 2013- The Phoenix Symphony
The Phoenix Symphony is seeking a qualified college student to participate in a summer internship in the Marketing & Development departments. This position provides departmental support for the promotion of the organization’s performances and activities. This is a full-time 40 hour a week position for 10 weeks. Candidate must be available to complete the 10 week long internship without interruption.

Job Duties:
-Clerical and administrative activities such as general correspondence, database management and filing
-Front of house assistance, customer relations, promotional events and writing assignments for press releases, programs and other communications
-Assist with social networking outlets for Facebook and Twitter as well as compile artist materials, bios from various guest artists and orchestra members
-Oversee community outreach program to provide tickets to area organizations to bring community groups to Phoenix Symphony performances

The Arizona Corporation Commission is the State’s utility regulatory agency. The Commission is headed by five statewide elected officials.

Description of duties:
Intern would prepare and distribute daily news clips to internal staff and communicate Commission activities to news media.

Would field calls from news media, and arrange media interviews for elected Commissioners, under supervision.

Write press releases, update the Commission’s official website, and take on other writing or public relations projects as needed.

Stretch Internet is a rapidly growing provider of audio and video streaming services for collegiate athletic departments and other organizations. Get paid to watch sports!

Our office is located in Gilbert, near Interstate 60 at Greenfield Road. PAID TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.

The Internet broadcast support specialist (IBSS) will manage and provide support for both audio and video Internet broadcasts. This will include, but is not limited to, monitoring broadcasts and troubleshooting problems; archiving broadcasts; and responding to technical support queries from listeners/viewers. The IBSS will be expected to work independently and to communicate professionally with clients and users.

Most shifts will be on weekends or after 3 p.m. on weekdays.
