AzKicksIt Video Production Internship
AzKicksIt is Arizona soccer news from youth to pro. Launched in February of 2012, AzKicksIt has quickly become the leading Arizona soccer news source for fans, players and coaches. AzKicksIt has been able to attract national attention as well courtesy of our excellent staff and forward thinking ideas. Staff of AzKicksIt have had their articles published on soccerbyives.net, americansoccer.now and AzKicksIt co-host’s a national soccer show called MLS in 30 featured on NASN.tv. Spring 2013 Marketing and Communications Intern- AZ Health-E Connection
Reports to: Sr. Coordinator, Marketing & Communications and Sr. Manager, Marketing & Communications

The Marketing & Communications Intern will be responsible for providing marketing and communications support for multiple health information technology (health IT) initiatives of Arizona Health-e Connection (AzHeC), as assigned. This position is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Supports marketing and communications department on assigned projects as they relate to marketing and communications, utilizing appropriate project document, tracking and measurement tools.
•Assists in gathering and assimilating industry related information for monthly e-newsletters to stakeholders.
•Supports management in the production of e-newsletters, articles, and other related collateral, including assisting with online email marketing and communications tools such as Constant Contact.
•Assists with planning and execution of events, such as presentations, community forums and annual conference, including assisting in event coordination as necessary.
•Supports the management and monitoring of AzHeC and Arizona Regional Extension Center (REC) websites.
•Assists in monitoring, analyzing and reporting on the reach and effectiveness of online and other communications.
•Helps create new content for and monitor social media campaigns.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.

Summer 2013

Want an exciting summer covering Major League Baseball? MLB.com offers 30 reporting internships to aspiring sportswriters. These internships are designed to give associates the full range of experiences that come with covering a professional team. Each associate will work closely with a site reporter to give visitors to a team’s Web site all the information they need to follow the team from Opening Day to season’s end. Each Major League team will have one associate.

Students who are currently juniors or seniors, as well as graduate students, are eligible for our 2013 Summer Internship Program. If you are graduating in December 2012, you are still eligible. All applications must be postmarked by Nov. 24, 2012. We will make our selections by the end of January.

We expect each intern to spend a minimum of 10 weeks in the program, dates determined by a person’s college schedule. Interns who have graduated generally are allowed to work until the end of the season.

The more flexible an applicant is in terms of which Major League city he or she can work in, the better the person’s chances of being selected. Interns will be paid $500 per week.

Applicants should submit a resume, 5 to 10 published articles, a list of references and a 750-word essay on why MLB.com should select you? Your clips ideally will show a variety of work, including game stories, previews and features. Previous experience covering a beat is preferred. PLEASE NOTE: You must submit materials to Cronkite Career Services in Cronkite Suite #222 by November 7. These materials will be forwarded to MLB.com recruiter Bill Hill and after he reviews the materials he will schedule in-person interviews with candidates on Thursday November 15 at the Cronkite School.

Associates are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.

Eligibility: Extremely competitive. Students must be college juniors, seniors, or graduate students as of April 2013.

The Summer Fellowship Program, the most notable student out-reach effort of IRTS, teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the business world through an expense-paid fellowship, which includes practical experience and career-planning advice. Each year college juniors, seniors and graduate students are selected nationwide to participate in the nine-week Summer Fellowship Program.

The Program begins with an extensive one-week orientation to broadcasting, cable, advertising, and interactive media. Fellows have a rare opportunity to question industry professionals at panels, lectures, and group discussions. They also take related field trips and learn career planning, networking and interviewing skills by attending industry social functions.

Following this first week, Fellows gain full-time “real world” experience at New York-based media corporations to which each is assigned for the duration of the nine-week Fellowship. Fellows are then able to reinforce or redefine specific career goals before settling into a permanent job in the electronic media industry.

Accomplished students from all majors (including math, computer science, business, marketing, communications, etc.) are encouraged to apply.

Job Summary: Writes, produces and develops news stories and audio elements for radio news program(s). Works in the KJZZ radio station and contacts may include administrators, staff, volunteers and the general public. Works in team environment to meet department goals.
