AAA Arizona is seeking a Community Relations Specialist to promote AAA in the community through building and maintaining relationships with organizations and groups that support AAA’s mission.
Responsibilities include:
•Develops, implements and promotes educational programs, seminars and other speaking engagements designed to educate members, teen drivers, parents, school children, senior citizens and local community groups on traffic safety issues and AAA programs and services
•Represents AAA Arizona on a variety of external committees and groups, held by various municipal agencies or community organizations
•Promotes programs and initiatives to a variety of stakeholders including members, club staff, and like-minded organizations and associations, through press releases, speaking engagements, articles, and other promotional activities
•Works as a liaison with marketing and branch administration to ensure internal knowledge and promotion of programs and services
•Cultivates new relationships with organizations and associations who support AAA’s mission
•Maintains department databases and inventory of safety items and maintains news and safety Web pages
Key requirements include:
•Bachelor’s degree and 2 – 3 years experience implementing and promoting community outreach initiatives for an association, non-profit organization or corporation, with an ability to tie results to business objectives
•Equivalent experience will be considered
•Strong verbal, written communication and public speaking skills
•Familiar with AP style and at least 1 year experience writing marketing or promotional materials for diverse audiences
•Ability to acquire an in-depth knowledge of traffic safety and AAA products and services
•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically in PowerPoint
•Must have the ability to develop extensive networking relationships in order to accomplish objectives
•Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license and maintain an excellent MVR record

AAA Arizona is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to serve as the primary spokesperson for Club affairs regarding Tucson media while projecting a positive image of AAA to media, AAA members and the general public. This position also functions as the community affairs liaison in Tucson, forging and cultivating relationships with key constituencies.

Key responsibilities include:
·Research and pitch story ideas and compose press releases to increase AAA’s media exposure in Tucson for travel, traffic safety, automotive and insurance issues
·Respond quickly to customer calls (media, members and others) and emails for information
·Conduct media interviews with Tucson media
·Develop and maintain key relationships and partnerships within the Tucson community
·Some public speaking required to groups and organizations by invitation
·Work with other members of the Public Affairs team to promote the Club’s Traffic Safety initiatives and plans in the Tucson market
·As administrative support for the PR Department is limited, all team members are expected to be able to schedule their appointments, assist with phone coverage, handle correspondence and department mail, and perform general administrative duties as required
·Assist Public Affairs with the Club’s legislative efforts as assigned; research and gather information, work as member of PR team to develop Club’s legislative agenda
Requirements
Key qualifications include:
·Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
·Minimum of two years’ experience in public relations, media or government relations
·On camera media and public speaking experience
·Computer experience to include knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
·Ability to demonstrate strong writing and speaking skills
