When May I Intern?
If you are a freshman or a first-year student who transferred from another school, you must complete JMC 101 and JMC 110 before you can work an internship. Usually, this means the earliest time you can start internship work is in your second semester.
If you are working an internship in the fall 2011 semester and have not registered for the internship credit (MCO 294 or JMC 484), please do so by Friday, September 2. We cannot give retroactive credit for an internship so please register by the deadline. You are required to register for any internship obtained through the Cronkite School listings.

Internship Opportunities With National Syndicated News Show
RightThisMinute, a new hour-long, weekday news and information show premiering September 12, is looking for interns to work in its newsroom. Interns will work with producers, e-journalists and content-bookers to organize and prepare stories for air. Must be internet savvy, detail oriented and able to work under deadline pressure. All work will take place in the Cronkite School. Must be available weekday afternoons and/or evenings. Knowledge of FinalCut Pro and computer databases is a plus as is studio production experience. 20 hours per week. Interns will be paid a stipend upon successful completion of their internships.

Assistant Reporter – Sports Entertainment
We are in need of four to six juniors/seniors/or grad students, for at least three days per week.
There are several areas available for interns:
– Writing blogs
– Working on our social media platforms
– Research coordination

News reporters are responsible for producing stories for our program and products including: webisode story ideas, interview opportunities, content research, scheduling and production. They think of story ideas, interview various people relating to the story topic, write scripts, obtain images and edit video.
1. Works with media personality to generate ideas, research & develop story angles and set up shoots for video, assist in development of new content, product and audience.
2. Arranges and conducts interviews, writes stories and edits video.
3. Attends weekly team meetings. (times to be determined based on schedule/availability)
4. Works to keep up with local and national sports news.
5. Assists with pre-production, production and event support with camera/production crew, media personality and guests or audience members in studio, onset or in field production situations.
6. Manages schedules, appointments, interview requests, and on-set requirements of media personality.
